TO
ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE ETHNIC PRESS AND MEDIA Dear
Friends and colleagues, Sisters and Brothers in the Ethnic Press and
Media: As
we are entering the first week of May, I want to bring to your attention
that now we are working intensively to stage our annual exhibition of the
Ethic Press at the Rotunda of the Toronto City Hall. At
this point I can assure you that more than 50 publications received and
processed in order to participate in the event. We organize this event
annually on the second week of May, as this week has been declared by the
UN in honour of the “Freedom of the Press.” In
Canada, as proud citizens of this great country, we do enjoy this benefit
and also we try to help others, all over the globe, struggling to survive
against corrupt government and tyrants. On
Monday May the 9th, 2011 at 6:00 pm, we are planning to for an
official opening of our exhibition. To this extend we have invited
citizens and friends of our organization to celebrate with us. Also, His
Worship Rob Ford, the Mayor of the City of Toronto, will be the co-host
welcoming our guest of this event. After the speeches we will organize a
reception, an evening with wine, a variety of food and entertainment for
our guests while the Mayor and other dignitaries take pictures at the
front of the various publications in display. A committee of three members
under our ombudsman with two more persons out of the organization will
select the best publications from the display and recommend them for
recognition later this year. This
year also we host a special exhibition of 35 Artists of Iraqi/Kurdish
origin, as a salute to the struggle of the Kurdish people for freedom and
democracy. This
exhibition is a common venture of NEPMCC and the “Web news Printing CO
Inc.” (Patrick Callaghan, President), “CHIN RADIO” (Lenny Lombardi,
President), and “Market Dimensions” (Asif A. Khan, President) For
this reason, today I am asking all the members of the sector to submit two
copies of their publication (if possible the best of the year) for the
exhibition, and also YOU ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE AND HONOUR WITH YOUR
PRESENCE THE OPPENING CEREMONIES and the reception. Also
we need a number of volunteers for next Sunday May the 8th to
help us set-up and prepare for the exhibition. Anyone interested please
write to asha.rajak@gmail.com or
neelnanda@sympatico.ca. We
thankfully acknowledge financial help received from the Department of the
Canadian Heritage, Publications Assistance Program, (PAP), towards this
operation. I
am looking forward to welcome you all here. With
every Respect Due, Thomas
